Our Story

Founded in Norwich in 1948, Gerald Giles has built a reputation for exceptional customer service, expert advice, and supplying some of the world’s leading home appliance brands. As a family-run business, we’ve spent decades helping customers create homes that work beautifully for the way they live, building lasting relationships that continue across generations.

In 2011, Gerald Giles joined forces with fellow Norfolk family business Snellings, combining over 75 years of shared expertise, innovation, and customer care. Together, the businesses have remained committed to the values they were founded upon: offering knowledgeable advice, embracing new technology, and providing a level of personal service that is increasingly hard to find.

As kitchen appliances evolved and became a more integral part of modern living, many of our customers turned to us not only for appliance expertise, but for help creating the kitchens around them. The move into kitchen design was therefore a natural progression, bringing together our long-standing knowledge of appliances with bespoke kitchen design, quality craftsmanship, and expert installation.

Today, the business is led by Paul Giles, who worked alongside his father Gerald for many years before taking over the reins. The values that built the company remain at the heart of everything we do – taking the time to listen, offering honest advice, and ensuring every customer feels supported throughout their journey.

Since relocating from Rose Lane to our Ber Street showroom in 2007, we have continued to invest in creating an inspiring space where customers can discover beautifully designed kitchens and experience some of the world’s leading appliance brands firsthand. Our decades of appliance expertise have made us trusted specialists for brands including Miele, Bora, Siemens, Neff, and Bosch, helping customers find the right solutions for the way they live. In 2013, we were proud to be appointed as the Miele Centre serving Norfolk and North Suffolk. Thoughtfully renovated and continually evolving, our showroom reflects the welcoming, design-led approach that has defined Gerald Giles for over seven decades.
